Celebrating 500 YOC and beyond
Jubilee Year
The year 2021 is marked as the Quincentennial Anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines. As part of the activities to commemorate this special event, Jubilee churches have been listed and designated as pilgrimage sites for the faithful.

πWhat is a pilgrimage?
A pilgrimage is a spiritual journey to encounter God and prayerfully, we hope to come back to our daily lives renewed, refreshed and more committed to love and serve Him through others.
πDid you know?
Plenary indulgences may be obtained by pilgrims upon visiting any one of the Jubilee churches as decreed by Pope Francis.

πWhat is a plenary indulgence?
An indulgence that can remove temporal punishments that are still due to sins even after absolution.
πHow to obtain plenary indulgence?
Aside from visiting any one of the Jubilee churches, three (3) external conditions must be applied:
- Confession
- Communion
- Prayer for the Intentions of the Holy Father
πThings to bring
We were actually planning for this for months but the pandemic surge plus the health & safety protocols just made it impossible for us to push through.
As I write this, however, NCR is already under a more relaxed level 1 restrictions. So we were able to go one fine day (Feb. 25, 2022) for this much awaited pilgrimageππ
If you and your friends are planning to go, now is the perfect time! Just remember to bring the ff:
- snacks
- bottled water
- fan
- extra shirt
- your pilgrim passport (you may purchase one from any of the Jubilee churches' office)
- face maskππ·
Upon fulfilling the pilgrim activities asked by each Jubilee church, you may go to their parish office and have your passport stamped.
Oh, and btw, once you've completed visiting the 14 Jubilee churches, you will be issued a Certificate of Completion.
Simply present your pilgrims passport to the last Jubilee church that you've visited and request for your certificate. 'Till then, keep safe and have a happy & blessed journey!!! π
