#sunflorafarm #daytour

So I saw this facebook post about this place somewhere in Rizal. The sunflower pictures are really pretty and though I know that Jala Jala is quite far from Quezon City, I decided to ask friends if they would like to visit the place with me. Fortunately, two of my friends were willing (haha) so we set the date for the first Sunday of March.

I was eager to visit  ever since the time I saw the sunflower pics in February, but our schedules just wouldn't jibe. February would have been the perfect time 'coz back then, the weather was cool and windy and perfect for commuting! But I have no choice, I just have to wait for March! Haha. Anyway, the date did came and needless to say, I was so excited!

HOW TO GET THERE: SUNFLORA FARM, JALA JALA, RIZAL

1. From Star Mall terminal, take a UV going to Tanay.
Fare- P80.00
Travel Time - 2 hours

2. From Tanay Market, you could either ride a jeepney or a trike. Ask the driver to take you to the sunflower farm in Jala Jala.
Fare- around P85-P100.00
Travel Time - approx. 1 hour

3. Entrance fee to Sunflora Farm- P30.00

WHAT TO DO: Take pictures, of course! We arrived at Sunflora at around 10:30 am (our meeting time was originally 6:00 am but I came 30 minutes late and one of my friends came 10 minutes after). We had a  quick coffee and sandwich at Dunkin Donuts, Star Mall and then proceeded to the UV terminal. The commute was fine and I was able to take forty winks. Upon arriving in Tanay, we rode a trike that took us to Sunflora.

Like I said earlier, it was past 10 am when we arrived. The heat was slowly creeping in and I took a video immediately! Hehe. The flowers were standing tall and proud and beautiful!!! I fell in love!!! 🌻🌻🌻
Here's the video link πŸ˜‰

We took pictures to our hearts delight even though the sun made its presence felt! Sobrang init na before 11:00 am! I can feel my neck and face getting itchy but I just couldn't stop taking pictures! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

WHERE TO EAT:

After an hour or so, we felt hungry. We went outside and bought lumpiang sariwa and buco. There are several pondohan outside the farm that sell snacks like banana que, biscuits, kwek kwek, etc. Don't be so maarte and you'll be just fine. Hehe. Btw, picnic tables are found everywhere inside the farm so you can have your picnic there. And it's free. I mean, the use of the picnic tables. πŸ™‚
So far, so good, right?  A very affordable out-of-town experience, don't you think so? πŸ‘

That's me and my friend after an early lunch. Palit t-shirt na din and ready to leave in a few. Pero teka, more pics, please?!? πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

WHAT'S NEXT?
After freshening up (Sunflora's got enough restrooms for guests), we went outside the farm and waited for a jeep that will take us to the nearest Lomi House. Haha. We were craving for Lomi Batangas style!

We found our lomi in the next town. Hehe. It was cheap for only P25.00 per bowl. It was steaming hot which is good but sadly, did not meet our expectations. Oh well...

Since it was just a little past 1:00 pm, we decided to visit the Windmill Farm in Pililla. We asked the locals where the Windmill Farm is, and of course, everyone said it was very near! Just take a tricycle, they said. It's very near, they said. Hahaha. Now, the "very near" tricycle trip took another hour or so! πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ So, guys, you know the drill...don't be too quick to believe what you hear, okay? Hehehe. Anyway, the Windmill Farm is also fun. It was kind of windy when we got there; it made us feel sleepy. After the heat in Sunflora, the soft, cool wind in Pililla was indeed a welcome break for us!

GOING HOME

By 4:00 pm, we were ready to go home. We already bought pasalubongs (ref magnets, snacks, kesong puti, etc) earlier.

To sum it up, our Rizal day tour is so worth it! It made us realize that hey, we can do it! We can go on our own, commute, find our way in an unfamiliar town, and have fun even if it was just the three of us! We thank you, Lord for this experience! 🌝

Things To Do During Your Homestay 2020 #CommunityQuarantineph

As we all know, Metro Manila is under Community Quarantine effective March 15, 2020 until April 14, 2020. We hope and pray that a cure for covid 19 will be found soon and everything will be back to normal πŸ™ With so much time on our hands, allow me to suggest some things that you might want to consider doing during our home stay. 1. Attend online masses - Please dress properly (not in your PJ's); remember you are having a date with the Lord. You may invite your family members to join you- this is a good opportunity for you to be closer. 2. Read the bible. Meditate. Pray also for others. Do not let fear and anxiety set in.  3. Write that reflection! πŸ˜… As a member of a diocesan formation ministry, we were invited to write our gospel reflections. Those reflections will be compiled and published as a gospel reflections book for 2021. I haven't got the time to do it yet 'coz of other things that needed my attention but now is the time! Truly, God works in mysterio...
Celebrating 500 YOC and beyond  Jubilee Year  The year 2021 is marked as the Quincentennial Anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines. As part of the activities to commemorate this special event, Jubilee churches have been listed and designated as pilgrimage sites for the faithful.  Strike a pose at the veranda next to the Porta Sancta (Jubilee door) of St. Paul the Apostle Shrine, Casa Milan πŸ’– What is a pilgrimage ?  A pilgrimage is a spiritual journey to encounter God and prayerfully, we hope to come back to our daily lives renewed, refreshed and more committed to love and serve Him through others. πŸ’– Did you know? Plenary indulgences may be obtained by pilgrims upon visiting any one of the Jubilee churches as decreed by Pope Francis.  Holding our pilgrims passports. St. Peter Shrine of Leaders, Commonwealth, Q.C. πŸ’– What is a plenary indulgence? An indulgence that can remove temporal punishments that are still due to sins even after absoluti...

Tila Pilon Hills DRT

Almost a year in quarantine and now you're eager to just stretch your legs for a bit and enjoy the beauty of nature even for just a few hours? Luckily, quarantine restrictions have eased up so we can now travel to nearby provinces. However, always remember to still observe safety protocols, okay? πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ PICK YOUR DESTINATION Bulacan is starting to be known as a must-go place for adventure seekers. Hidden in every barangays are falls, caves, rivers, hills and a lot more. The once sleeping beauty is slowly awakening. And people are noticing! What makes it more appealing is that it's only a few hours away from Manila! πŸš˜πŸš—πŸš It's also very interesting to note that due to these pleasant developments, jobs and other income-generating opportunities became available to the locals. Alright, so we chose to go to Tila Pilon hills and maybe to Talon Pari falls later after our hike. Still fresh at 7:00 am 🌞 We departed from Quezon City at 5:00 am and arrived in Tila Pilon at a little p...
