Tila Pilon Hills DRT

Almost a year in quarantine and now you're eager to just stretch your legs for a bit and enjoy the beauty of nature even for just a few hours?

Luckily, quarantine restrictions have eased up so we can now travel to nearby provinces. However, always remember to still observe safety protocols, okay? 😉👍

PICK YOUR DESTINATION

Bulacan is starting to be known as a must-go place for adventure seekers. Hidden in every barangays are falls, caves, rivers, hills and a lot more. The once sleeping beauty is slowly awakening. And people are noticing! What makes it more appealing is that it's only a few hours away from Manila! 🚘🚗🚐

It's also very interesting to note that due to these pleasant developments, jobs and other income-generating opportunities became available to the locals.

Alright, so we chose to go to Tila Pilon hills and maybe to Talon Pari falls later after our hike.

Still fresh at 7:00 am 🌞

We departed from Quezon City at 5:00 am and arrived in Tila Pilon at a little past 7:00 am.

MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS:

  • Registration and entrance fee - P50 per head.
  • P50/pax for our group guide.
  • P10 for the use of the comfort rooms. Honesty system works here. Just drop your payment in the plastic can located near the entrance of the comfort rooms.
  • Stores are scattered near the registration area. You can buy bottled water, snacks, coffee and other items.

After coffee, we started our hike to Tila Pilon Hills. Word of advise, though. Take something sweet like an energy bar or chocolate to give you an extra dose of energy. Haha. I only had coffee; reason why I had a hard time, I think! My bad! 😅

The first few minutes of the hike was fine. Thirty minutes or so after was a different story; at least for me! This was my first ever hike! So I had to stop to catch my breath. In fact, after a few minutes, I took a couple more stops to rest and take photos and videos. Thanks a lot to my friends who never left my side ❤️

"Let's stop and talk awhile..."

Hold on... almost there!

Finally!!!

After 20 minutes or so, we finally reached the summit! All our body aches and pains that we experienced while climbing vanished upon reaching the top of Tila Pilon Hills! 🌄

Thank you, Lord!!! 🙏

Sweet victory!!!

Descending 💪😎

Yes, we made it! It was a beautiful, breathtaking experience and we hope to explore more destinations that DRT offers!!!

WHAT TO BRING:

1. Lunch (boiled eggs, fried hotdogs, meatloaf, sandwich, fruits, etc)
2. chocolates or energy bars
3. Sun block or sun screen lotion
4. Water
5. slippers (in case you decide to take a dip in one of the falls nearby)
6. extra shirt
7. small backpack to put all your stuff. It's best to travel light.

Well, I did mentioned Talon Pari Falls earlier as our additional itinerary. We actually went there after lunch but it was full. So we drove around and found a river (I forgot the name). The place was already crowded when we got there and the water was not too inviting to say the least; we just settled for some picture-taking instead.

FINAL TIP:

Try to depart from your place early, (if it's a weekend or holiday) to avoid traffic build-up and the crowd. DRT is almost always crowded during those times. Be safe and enjoy mother nature, especially the sweet mountain air in the early morning! 💗

Things To Do During Your Homestay 2020 #CommunityQuarantineph

As we all know, Metro Manila is under Community Quarantine effective March 15, 2020 until April 14, 2020. We hope and pray that a cure for covid 19 will be found soon and everything will be back to normal 🙏 With so much time on our hands, allow me to suggest some things that you might want to consider doing during our home stay. 1. Attend online masses - Please dress properly (not in your PJ's); remember you are having a date with the Lord. You may invite your family members to join you- this is a good opportunity for you to be closer. 2. Read the bible. Meditate. Pray also for others. Do not let fear and anxiety set in.  3. Write that reflection! 😅 As a member of a diocesan formation ministry, we were invited to write our gospel reflections. Those reflections will be compiled and published as a gospel reflections book for 2021. I haven't got the time to do it yet 'coz of other things that needed my attention but now is the time! Truly, God works in mysterio...
